Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Posted August 30, 2024

Bright Tomorrows Child Advocacy Center in Pocatello, Idaho, is excited to offer an employment opportunity for a mental health counselor with a clinical professional license in Idaho. As a non-profit organization, we are committed to providing trauma-informed services to children and adolescents. At Bright Tomorrows, we have the honor of working alongside dedicated child abuse professionals and investigators in our community, all sharing a common goal- to provide the highest quality response and support to victims of child abuse. Your role will be pivotal in achieving this mission, making you an integral part of our strong team.

While we require the necessary education and licensure, we also highly value at least one year of experience working with children and adolescents. Experience with childhood trauma is a plus but not a requirement, as we provide training using evidence-based mental health treatment methods upon hire. This position also includes the exciting opportunity to be a trained child forensic interviewer, depending on interest, fit, and need. This training and growth opportunity is designed to keep you motivated and excited about your role.

Applicants can rest assured that they will be supported in their role. We are a wellness-focused, collaborative team that shares a passion for making a difference in children's lives. We value communication, teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to find joy and hope in witnessing and supporting the healing and resiliency of the amazing children we work with.

All potential team members must pass a background check before hiring. The wage is competitive and depends on experience and position structure (billable hour versus full-time pay). This position is currently up to 32 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, as our center is closed on Fridays. For full-time (32-hour) positions, we offer a range of benefits, including paid holidays, generous paid personal leave, retirement benefits regardless of employee contribution, and comprehensive health insurance, ensuring your well-being and security.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing mental health counseling to children and adolescents using evidence-based trauma-informed techniques. Caseloads are kept manageable to promote balance and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and community partners.

  • Conducting assessments and developing appropriate treatment plans

  • Collaborating with families and professionals to encourage the best outcomes for children
