Child Sexual Abuse

Children are often taught how to keep themselves safe from sexual abuse—and that's important for them to learn—but it's no substitute for adult responsibility. We make sure our children wear seat belts. We walk them across busy streets. We store toxic household cleaners out of reach. Why, then, would we leave the job of preventing child sexual abuse solely to children?

Stewards of Children is a 2-hour prevention training program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The program is designed for organizations that serve youth and for individuals concerned about the safety of children. It is the only nationally distributed evidence based program proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child protective behaviors. Research findings from independent evaluators are available on

Bright Tomorrows CAC provides Stewards of Children workshops to youth-serving organizations, faith communities, daycare providers, and community members throughout the year. Please call Bright Tomorrows at 234-2646 to schedule a workshop for your organization or find out about one of our upcoming community workshops.
